About us

History

Our foundation was created in 2006 by José Shabot Cherem. He has always had a great entrepreneurial spirit, while working at a construction site, José realized that many of his fellow bricklayers could not read neither write. For that reason, in 2004 our founder started to deliver on-site lessons to construction workers. In so doing, they would be enabled to obtain a better quality of life.

This is how Construyendo y Creciendo was created. Its main objective is to provide education and job training to construction workers. We install classrooms in their own workplace.

In 14 years, we have a track record of 120 classrooms installed over 16 States of Mexico. We have benefited more than 25,000 workers.

As well, we install Mobile Classrooms in public places. This sort of classrooms has allowed us to benefit entire communities, and not only construction workers.

Since 2017, BSc in Architecture, Roxana Fabris, became our Executive President.

About us

Organizational Ideology

MISSION

Our mission is to offer quality, formal, and comprehensive education to construction workers in order to provide them with personal and professional development opportunities capable of transforming their quality of life and triggering a positive social change tin their closest circles.

VISION

To be leaders in combating educational backwardness of construction workers, encouraging them to finish their primary and secondary school, so they can achieve personal, social, and economic development opportunities for them, their families, and our Mexico.

values

Construyendo y Creciendo programs are based on the values of respect, fairness, justice, solidarity, honesty and integrity.

We work with the support of INEA and different partners, such as local authorities, in order to guarantee that our educational services are official and of quality.
Classrooms of Construyendo y Creciendo
Our classrooms are conditioned areas at the construction site. These count with computers, internet access, and all the necessary supplies for learning. It facilitates assistance as these are located within workers’ workplace.
The learning process
Because we work with adults, our educational methodology is focused on providing workers with basic concepts for daily life, allowing an effective and lifelong learning. Our vision is that adults can manage their own learning and develop it in an experiential, active, and participative manner, as they already possess prior knowledge, skills, experiences, and values.
Due to our learning methodology, students can complete educational levels, from alphabetization to secondary school, within periods of four to six months.
